Matt Danon
Matt Danon is a South Bay artist who grew up in different beach towns in Southern California. His love of the ocean, beach and surfing has inspired his recent work.
While working as a hairstylist in the film and television industry Matt started painting during his breaks in between projects, his paintings are spirited images of life by the sea.
In addition to oil and acrylic paintings on canvas, some paintings are done using acrylic paint on boards reclaimed from old barns or fences. Some of the boards have been milled so they are the same width and thickness, the grain and knots add to the uniqueness of each painting. On some pieces the wood is screwed together on 1”x2” boards so the finished product sits about 3/4” from the wall. No framing is necessary.
