A self-taught artist of many mediums, Carmen has been creating art since childhood.  Initially, she began as a youngster with poster paints moving on to pencil drawings and then eventually into acrylics and oils.  She has successfully painted and sold portraits, still lifes and landscapes.  Then she discovered her real passion: creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry through the art of off-loom bead weaving.  This unique art form, in Carmen’s hands, has yielded breathtaking pieces including crosses, miniature trees, baskets and freeform jewelry.  She recently extended her creativity to include intricate wire work and lustrous polymer clay beads.  Carmen is a long-time resident of San Pedro and an active participant of the local art community.
